Theme: We are exploring the theme of OCEANS this spring, beyond the typical view of a beach scene. Themes of environmentalism, beauty, endurance, change, destruction, life, power, activism, Mother Ocean, sounds of the sea, seashells, marine life, bird life, etc., are encouraged.

Deadline: Sunday, January 16, 2022 (online submission via Submittable)

Exhibition: Friday, February 25 to mid-May 2022

Weekend: February 25-26: Champagne Reception and Preview Party Friday from 5:30-7:30 (by ticket); Opening from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday (free).

Drop Off:Saturday and Sunday, January 22-23, from 1 to 6 p.m.

Closing: Sunday, May 15, 2022, from 2-4 p.m.

Pick Up: Sunday, May 15, 2022, from 4-7 p.m.; also Tuesday, May 17, 5-7 p.m.

Submission: Please submit online via “Submittable.”

Entry fee: $15 for up to three pieces; 25% commission. $100-$500 for smaller works preferred.

Size: Smaller works preferred, though we will need several larger pieces for certain areas

Location:  Women Writing for (a) Change, Jax, 1610 Osceola Street, Jacksonville, FL, 32204. This is a historic home where numerous writing and related events are held every semester. Work will be hung inside the house, out in the "SheShed," and out in the garden if appropriate. Space for large-scale sculpture available in the front of the house.

Guidelines: Paintings, collage, mixed media, photography, and sculptures will be accepted. Digital art also accepted, including with sounds, video, etc.
 Artwork must be original work by the artists. Art must be properly framed with wire on the back. All frames must be in good condition; worn, chipped frames and art with mats that are not clean will not be accepted. Please be sure each piece is clearly marked noting the name of artist, title, framed size, medium.

Insurance: Please note that Women Writing for (a) Change will not have insurance in
 place to cover your work while it is in the show. Please obtain your own.

Media: Artists agree that images of work submitted may be used in promotional
 materials for show and related events.
